Fellow Shadow Watchers,
At the recent BSS Conference somebody displayed a
hand-held device used by architects, glazing designers etc. which allowed
an observer on site to visually estimate sunpaths at various times of the
year. This would be especially useful to a diallist when placing a dial
in the vicinity of high buildings. The instrument was of 'budget'
construction and cleverly used a 'fish-eye' door security viewer to scan
the horizon and read a magnetic compass simultaneously.

Can anyone give a source for this item please - life is too short to make
everything from scratch!

JPEG of the instrument in use for anyone who is curious.

Best Wishes

Tony Moss.
