Hi Frank,  Interesting you mention the dial at Stellenbosch.  You might
like to know that this dial  is recorded in the Register - since it
emanated from the UK.  It is SRNO 4117 and Carolyn Martin and (I think)
Andrew James did some research.   Dial is from St Mary's Alverstoke, Hants
which was reconstructed in 1885 at which time the dial was removed by  J
Philip Legg, (then Rector of Stellenbosch) in remembrance of his parents
who are buried in Alverstoke.  It is now in the wall of the SA church. 
Hampshire records show it originally cost £4 15s 0d.  I think it is mounted
inside the church but am not sure.
