Hello, I am an art teacher in Chicago Illinois interested in creating a sundial as an art project for the 2000-2001 school year. I came across some old xerox's I had made years ago at the School of the Art Institute from a book by Robert Adzema. So that's inspiration number one.
The second inspiration comes from my visit a couple of years back to the Islamic observatories in Jaipur and Delhi, India. I am wondering if there are any "sundial artists" or gnomonists based in Chicago (or nearby) who would be interested in helping me develop a high school curriculum for art and math/science courses. I would appreciate any suggestions, contacts or references.
