Oui Alain, je suis un ingenieur, mais un ingenieur chemie qui parle un peu
Francais.

To find south, use the sun at noon. Determine the exact time of local noon,
corrected for time zone, longitude, and equation of time. Today at your
location solar noon is 12:00 MET + ((15-7)/15x60) + 0:11 = 12:43. I use the
Dialists Companion Program available from NASS to determine these
corrections. Mark the shadow of a plumb line at that exact time. This gives
you an accurate north south axis. This old fashion method is better for
finding south than a modern GPS.
