NASS' Digital Compendium The amount of graphics we are now using in The Compendium makes it difficult to produce a digital edition that will fit on two disks – even when compressed. Unfortunately, the quality of the photos often suffers through downsampling – an inevitable result of trying to keep the files to a manageable size. However, as an experiment, NASS members who have subscribed to the email edition (which will actually be distributed via download from the Internet) will have two options with the December issue. They can download a 3.0MB file with the usual handling of graphics, or they can elect to download a considerably larger 7.2MB file that does a much better job of reproducing photos.
