I would like to post the following questions on the Sundial Mailing List:
#1.) I've noticed a number of folding sundials for sale on the auction
site, eBay. Many bear the name "West" or "F.L. West --- London". Can anyone
provide me with information about this company? If it is still in business,
I would like their address. Incidentally, a few of these dials seem quite
well made, while many others look pretty shabby. I wonder if some are
counterfeit.
#2.) I would also like to know about Stanley sundials. Their Internet
address is http://www.stanleylondon.com/. Stanley uses the Union Jack to
advertise its products and stamps them, "Stanley London". I contacted them,
however, and found out they are not a British company at all but are
located in California in the United States. Although their products look
attractive, stamping them "Stanley London" is highly deceptive and
irritates me greatly. If it says, "London", I expect it to be made in
London, not the U.S.!
Thank you very much for any information you can give me.
