Hi Tom,

Your description agrees with original copies of Michel's book that I
have seen in several observatory and museum libraries.

Note that French books are often sold uncut without neatly trimmed
margins and the poor quality of paper is typical for many books printed
during and for some time after WW II. There is a reprint of Michel's
book published by Alain Brieux (Paris) in the mid 1970's that is
presumably printed on better quality paper.
