UK If I were to jump to a conclusion from this
admittedly still limited survey (a pet habit of scientists), I would say that
the UK favours (Ou, Oo,Ow), whereas the USA inclines more to (Ott). Based on
this hypothesis I would predict that Ron Anthony is located in the
USA. (;-))
The second conlusion is that I can pretty much choose my
personal pronounciation (within the above framework).
Special thanks to John for the information about the typos, (I
must admit, I did not read so attentively as to notice) and to Mike letting me
know about the existence of an Oughtred Society.
Thanks again and apologies to the rest of the list for the
digression.
