Hi Fred,

Time is a relative notion. In the north of Iceland maybe more than elsewhere.
But, what is "too far off"?
At the latitude of about 65 degrees the failure in time keeping of a sundial
with a vertical gnomon
and the hour markers equally spaced on a circle is no more than 10 minutes at
march 21 or september
23 but can raise to 50 minutes at the solstices.
At june 21 when the circular sundial is indicating 6 p.m. it is about 5.10 p.m.
You can verify it by
superposing the circular sundial on a analemmatic sundial designed for that
situation.
