Our business (Modern Sunclocks) has been contacted by a lady in France who is currently writing a book on Sundials - and she is attempting to trace a former business called "Sundials" who were based in Taunton, Somerset, UK.
Apparently, the business was run by a person named Mr. A. (perhaps Andrew) Wallace - and from his address at 5 Elm Grove, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 1EG. They produced unusual bronze-effect dials (actually a resin-cast material) depicting such things as a "clown bursting through a hoop", for a vertical dial - and a "Charlie Chaplin type figure on roller skates", (horizontal). If any members of the Sundial Mailing List can recall such a business, and possibly know up-to-date contact details for Mr. Wallace (or even if he is still trading) - will they please get in touch with me, so that I can then pass any information to the lady in France.
