Sonnenuhr Spaetlese, which is a delicious, smooth dessert wine from
the Mosel. I serve it at all "First Shadow" ceremonies, and also when
hosting NASS meetings (as in 1998 here in Seattle). The bottle label
pictures a dial which looks very similar (but not identical) to the
one on Frans's Web site, labelled DGC 1166, in Zeltingen-Rachtig. I'd
be grateful if anyone can tell me for sure which dial is depicted on
the label - someday I'll visit the vineyard in person.
So there's a good excuse to procure yourself a bottle and
confirm how delicious it is! It ain't cheap at US$40, but buy it for
a special occasion.

Hi Hans and all,
Some vineyard dials can be seen at my sundial site:
http://www.biol.rug.nl/maes/zonnewijzers/welcome-e.htm
Choose "Index" from the menu and go to Pommern.
The DGC catalogue (see under menu option "Sundial societies" -> Germany)
lists several more, but I could not find pictures of those and therefore did
not include them into my site.
Regards,
Frans

Subject: vineyard sundials
Hi all,
does somebody know about descriptions of sundials located in the vineyards
of the german Mosel-Valley?
Furthermore I would like to hear if there are such descriptions of
sundials
in other regions of viniculture in germany, of course also if there is a
similar culture of vineyard sundials in other coutries.
