Ron Anthony has regularly attended the NASS conferences for several years - so we were surprised and missed him when he didn't make it to Tucson.
Unfortunately, I was just informed that Ron died early this morning (Dec. 11) at his home in California. He suffered from a rare disease that went from onset (while he was on a trip to Japan) to death in the space of only a few months. I hope to get more information on where memorial donations may be sent in the next few days - will pass it on when I learn more.

You are the first person in 10 years to ask about my signature. "++ron" is
a ironic joke in computer speak. There is a programming language called
"C". Many years after it was created, an improved version called "C++" was
invented. But in the C language C++ means "promote C, and then use it".
The language should really have been called "++C" which means "make C
better, then use it". So (after a long and tortured explanation) ++ron
means "make ron better and then use him".
