A.E. Waugh 'Sundials Their Theory & Construction pub by Dover ISBN0-486-22947-5 p87 onwards. You may find the azimuth formulae on page 139 easier to handle on a pocket calculator without those 'log tans'. Easier still if you key it into a spreadsheet but don't forget that SS may deal in radians rather than degrees. Tony Moss -
