Subject: RE: Digital cameras

Hello Alexei,

Nice to hear from you.

Yes, I've been using my Nikon 8700, but there is
so much to learn. I've never had a camera which
demanded such attention to little buttons and
nested menus. Mostly I use the automatic "point
and shoot" mode.

There has been a lively discussion of the
relative merits of several Nikon models: 8700,
8800, and 8400. The last two have the image
stabilization feature. It seem to me that the
more serious photographers prefer the 8400 or
8800 over the 8700. Others feel that the
Panasonic FZ20 is well worth considering.

I attach two photos taken with my 8700. Neither
is just as it came from the camera, but the
changes are mostly cropping. If you use an EXIF
viewer, you may be able to see some of the
technical details. To discover if the EXIF data
survives email attachment, I'm sending myself
copies.

Best wishes,

Mac
