You should make one too Bill!  No, the sundial faces would not be of stained glass. Since the dial faces are so high up and far away, I want the face design to be really simple and easy to read from a distance, and resist the weather.  Maybe just bold black numerals and hourlines on a white face.  Wouldn't a fired white porcelain face with black numerals look and weather well.  But I don't know how I could get a porcelain face made.  I don't think I want wood faces.   Any ideas for a face material?   John ----- Original Message ----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ; sundial@rrz.uni-koeln.de Sent: Saturday, March 19, 2005 11:06 AM Subject: Re: Sundial Cupolas John et al, A sundial cupola is a terrific idea, I'm all in favor of it.  I hope you not talking about stained glass sundials, but the more common type of external sundial.  If I had a cupola on my house, there is no question I would do the same thing.  I love it. -Bill
