I am using Albert Waugh's "Sundials, theory & construction" to construct a
horizontal sundial. Laying out the lines using his grahpic method, the
dial is 2 hours slow. Taking into consideration daylight saving time and
my longitude 97.44W, why is the dial so slow?

How do I lay out the dial, can someone help put the idea for longitudinal
corection into layman's terms?

I have layed a dial out following the directions in the book, but I'm still
having problems with the longitudanal corrections. Would this account for
the 2 hour time difference?

I'm not a mathemetician, I'm an artist, any help is appreciated.

I'm in Austin Texas, 30.17N 97.44W
