Dear sundial enthusiasts, Recently I became a member of the mailing list and it has been a pleasure making contact with people interested in sundials around the world. I would like to introduce myself : As chairman of the working group "Sundials" in the Austrian Astronomical Society I represent 80 people in Austria and neighboring countries who are deeply involved with sundials. Our working group stays in touch with sundial enthusiasts in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Czechien, and Hungary. Once a year a conference is organized where discussions are held and interesting sundials are visited during a one-day excursion.
The next conference will take place at the castle Seggau in A-8430 Leinitz, Seggauberg 1, Styria on October 10 to 11, 1997. Seggauberg is situated approximately 30 km South from Graz.
