Hello Sundial Fans:
I have to share this with you. Today I
received an email from the great Italian sundial maker, Lucio Maria Morra,
telling me about his new website at www.luciomariamorra.com I did
not know about him until now. I'm so impressed.
Without a doubt, this man is one of the world's
best and most talented sundial painters. (Mostly vertical dials painted on
stucco) You must see his website. His work is amazing.
Along with Joseph Auvrey of France, I consider him to be one of the world's
best modern sundial painters that I'm aware of.
It's astounding how prolific he is. Not only
has he made over a hundred sundials, each one is a work of art. Most
of his sundials are new creations designed by him, but he has also done a
fantastic job of restoring many old dials that were in horrible condition.
Check out his restored sundial cupola too. His work deserves close
attention and respect.
I wish we had a sundial maker like him in my
country.
