VIGANELLA - mirror -project

Dear friends,   two well known Italian gnomonists,   the architect Gim Bonzani and the engineer Gianni Ferrari   have worked out a splendid and so far unique project to bring sunlight to the market place of   V I G A N E L L A   during winter months!   Viganella, 46° 3’ 11,52” N   8° 11’ 48,48” E, altitude 582 metres, lacks of direct sunlight as it is situated in a valley and mountains of around 1600 metres cut the sunlight off between November and February! The idea of Gim Bonzani and Gianni Ferrari is to send the sunrays with a system of movable special mirrors (SOLEDOPPIO ® HOUSE) to the centre of the village during the dark period.   In all probability the German ARD first TV program will show a short film   on Wednesday, December 21 (winter solstice) during the evening news at 10:30 pm.   Also those of you who live in the surrounding countries of Germany near the border and are able to watch German ARD TV should not miss this film.   Good luck to Gim Bonzani and Gianni Ferrari for their project!   *   *   *   Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you!   Reinhold Kriegler     * ** *** **** ***** ****** ******* Reinhold  R.
