Hello Friends,
Even if you have a printed copy of Simon Wheaton-Smith's excellent
sundial book, "Illustrating Shadows," you should consider obtaining
the CD he offers which has the entire contents of that book, but with
essentially all of the diagrams and photographs in color. These are
PDF files, and the diagrams and photos can be enlarged for details.
It has been said that a picture is worth 1000 words. If so, a color
picture has got to be worth 10,000 words.
The CD also has numerous other files, including spreadsheets.
Check Simon's web site for more information about his book and the
color CD, including ordering details.

Best wishes,
Mac Oglesby
P.S. Simon seems to welcome comments and suggestions, and usually
responds quickly to each. Should you object to something he wrote, or
how he presented it, write to him and expect that he'll defend and/or
change the item.
