Mario and all:
I certainly did not mean any harm to you or any other of
the wonderful artists, sundial designers and photographers. You guys are
my heroes. I can only hope to make sundials as nice as yours someday.
I admire your works so much, thats why we made this webpage. I
would never do anything to offend you or the others and I would certainly
accommodate you if I could and would do the things I should. But
since I cant, I will ask Dave to shut down the website tomorrow. Your
friendship means more to me than the damn website.

Yes John, I
understand your basic idea and, I told you, I'm really happy that you chose my
sundials as ones of the best sundials you knows, but nevertheless I still agree
with all the other people that wrote again about it expecially with Sara. As
editorial director of the Italian magazine of gnomonics I must be sure that
authors of the articles have the permission for print the images they use for
illustrate their articles, mostly if they are from Museums, libraries, private
collections and so on. In the case of my sundials it would be enough to ask
the permission to me, many people ask this permission and I never said no, I
just ask for a link. But as webmaster of the website of the Italian association
of Gnomonics I can't give you the permission for the photos made by others. To
protect the rights of the authors I clearly wrote that the right of the photos
are of the authors of them, maybe you don't understand italian language so you
has not been able to read it, but trust me, it is written in the chief page of
the gallery.
I'm sorry you are so
crossed but it is a question cheaftly of correctness before of
laws.
