Dear Tony and all, As the newspaper I linked to yesterday wrote, the sand is special sculpture sand with angular grain structure, which is not from the beach but from an excavation (open cast pit) far away from the coast in Brandenburg. The sand is good for piling up and after carving it remains in a perfect shape for weeks without problems. The carvers only use sand and water. After the compacting phase the artists need special tools for carving such as bricklayer tools. I hope a dialist nearby has marked this event in his organizer and will document and publish this as the the Mont Saint Michel Dial* in France has been published in the internet some years ago.
