Hi John,

For a lengthy but fascinating account about QBasic start at this page
in Carl Sabanski's web site:

http://www.mysundial.ca/tsp/qbasic.html

To read about how I used QBasic to generate sundial faces scroll down
and click on Mac Oglesby.

At the bottom of the page about my using QBasic, you'll find links to
several of my sundial QBasic programs. Carl has done a fine job of
presenting this material, I think you will agree. I still use my own
programs for investigating sundials, most recently writing code to
generate hours until sunset dials which have a polestyle rather than
using a pointed post's tip as a nodus.

Best wishes,

Mac

P.S. Yesterday I was modifying BASIC code (not QBasic, but an antique
cousin, back when each line began with a line number) for a Commodore
PET computer, which is being used by 5th graders. Did you ever hear
of a "HURKLE?" That computer is handy for teaching elementary
programming because the machine starts up with BASIC.

>Sorry Mac, I am completely ignorant about Qbasic. I don't even know what it
