Any reasonable person would assume that when you ask for the extreme points of
Australia, that you mean the "corners" of the continent itself as listed in the
URL. But being an (unreasonable ?) pedant, and one who has worked in Antarctica
several times, I would gently point out that the southern-most point of
Australia (as a nation) is actually the South Pole. The Australian Antarctic
Territory is legally part of Australia, and this ends at the South Pole.
I have won several bets with this on the simple question "What is the
southern-most point of Australia?"
