I think a soft client would be useful for existing SunRay
installations. For example, If you have a SunRay at your desk at
work, and you want to resume a session while you are travelling, it
would be a great way to do it. If you tend to keep a number of
applications running, there is nothing quite like being able to resume
the same session from a remote location.

Citrix Metaframe for UNIX allows you to do this from any type of
client device, but it doesn't have the advantages that the SunRay does
when you have access to physical SunRay DTU. Having a SunRay at home
via VPN has only increased my desire for a soft client. I like being
able to resume my session from different locations, but I'm not always
at a site that has SunRays installed. I do usually have network
access via a Mac or PC laptop, a soft client would come in handy in
those situautions...it would end our need for Citrix for UNIX.

Perhaps Sun and Citrix could get together and allow a SunRay and
Citrix for UNIX installation on the same server to coexist. A session
could be resumed via a SunRay desktop or a Citrix client connection.
Sun wouldn't have to develop or support clients for various OS's, but
their customers would get what they want.
