There is a nice package available for download on www.sun.com/download. There you can download Sun Ray Server 3.0, and there is also a Sun Ray Supplemental CD. That download has Sun's package of rdesktop along with some syncing, scanner, digital camera and other software. I've run it on SRSS 3.0, so I'm not sure if the rdesktop package will work with 2.0 or not. If I remember right there was one dependancy on a package from the Solaris Companion Software CDROM.

I have searched the alias and have not found any references to
installing rdesk top on Solaris does anybody have a cookbook or a
procedure guide for installation. From what I have read there is
quite a few dependencies and nothing is compiled.

Simply go to http://www.blastwave.org/, get pkg-get, install it and then do a pkg-get -i rdesktop. This will install rdesktop with all of its dependencies.
