The scroll-wheel detection algorithm used by 3.0 firmware is not the same as the 2.0 algorithm. Presumably you have a model of mouse that 3.0 doesn't handle properly. If you'd like to see this fixed in a 3.0 patch then I can send you a script that will identify the mouse model, and I can then try to get some test firmware built to handle that model properly. That will be fixed in the next release of SRSS, which will be supported on S10. (SRSS 3.0 is not supported on S10.) The PCFS bug (5047630) that can panic the kernel still has not been fixed. This is an appalling situation. I can only encourage everyone to open escalations against the bug in the hope that this will get the attention of the people who manage the people who are supposed to maintain PCFS.
