Since Sun just bought Tarantella, I bet it means that Tarantella technology will be packaged with Sun Ray Server Software to allow Sun Rays to access Microsoft Terminal Server sessions.  Graphically:

MSTS <-> RDP <-> Tarantella <-> SRSS <-> Sun Ray

So, this would let you get more (perhaps everything) through Sun.  To administrators, it just means one stop shopping.  There might be some price breaks and better integration as well, but no fundamentally new capabilities.

As it is worded, it sounds like Sun Rays will start being able to speak RDP.  That doesn't seem likely.

I wish it meant that SRSS would start supporting RDP in addition to the Sun Ray protocol, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't.  Adding RDP would allow many installations with existing Winterms to eliminate Windows entirely from their servers.
