We use Rdesktop here. You can publish a single application, redirect
audio and serial devices, and do much more. In limited testing, we
found that it performed better than Citrix or Tarantella as well. And
its free. So if you don't mind using a open source product that isn't
supported, then check it out. Its been a great solution for us so far.

Also, we use the build from www.blastwave.org, which I believe is the
latest from the Rdesktop site.

desktop apps on JDS. I have seen a Sun Net talk where they did this
and it seems pretty much like it was native, but being lauched on the
windows server via rdp.
