I've looked into samba (appears to be no way to map with automount)
and sharity (doesn't support file locking which I think is used in the
SunRay environment). I've also checked out the Microsoft
help/documentation, docs.sun.com, and sun.com/bigadmin.
AFAIK your best bet is still MS SFU:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/sfu/default.mspx
It can share a Windows share via NFS, and has a component that can
"emulate" NIS using AD.
