I am speculating that the problem is the version of GNOME changed from
2.0.0 to 2.0.2 and somewhere is stored the actual version in the .dt
files. Since the 2.0.0 version is no longer on the system, it defaulted
to GNOME.

Look at the ~/.dt/sessions/lastsession file - it's probably pointing at
a Xsession script that no longer exists...
% echo `cat .dt/sessions/lastsession`
/usr/dt/config/Xsession.jds
%
Not sure if you can fool it with a symlink or something....
