How does it not work again?
In our environment, (Your mileage may vary)....
We use automounter heavily and about once a day we end up with a
volume that will not unmount and hangs the machine. We can not umount
-f because the NFS kernel will not release the volume. The only
solution we have is to reboot the system.
The linux community has stated the problem is in the NFS kernel and
needs to be re-written, but nobody is willing to step up and do it.
In addition, the automounter itself has problems with direct maps.
It's really going to be a while before Linux is a real mulit-user
platform (For desktops). As a single user or a compute server it's
great.
Thanks
