Hi all

This is nearly a Sun Ray question - people on the list may have some experience of this kind of thing. The work being done is also part of a potential large Sun Ray deal where we may co-exist with other thin clients.

I've asked the question internally as well, but thought that this list may be able to help too!

I have Solaris 10 x86 installed, several users configured and everything working fine when logging in via the server console.

When we log in from some nobrand thin clients, using xmdcp to connect, I appear to be unable to login more than 3 or 4 users. When the extra users login from Solaris dtlogin, they are sent straight back to the thin client's default screen. You then have to select the X Windows connection, after which you are able to reconnect to dtlogin.

The logged in users can work fine.

All usrs are logging in using JDS as opposed to CDE. I wasn't able to try and login with CDE, but will try tomorrow if possible.

I don't have very good web access where I am, but Google searches are working ok - no clear answer appears to be there.

I'm running out of ideas. Although I've never worked with 'real' x-terminals before, I've seen many large Sun Ray installations and have often had xsessions running from PCs, Linux and Sun boxes on lots of occasions with no trouble.

Can anyone suggest anything?

The errors in /var/dt/Xerrors were along these lines (I wasn't able to write things down in full or mail the file anywhere).

X Error of failed request: 86
Major opcode of failed request: 51 (X_SetFontPath)
Serial number of failed request: 10
Current serial number in output stream: 12
X Error of failed request: 86
Major opcode of failed request: 51 (X_SetFontPath)
Serial number of failed request: 10
Current serial number in output stream: 12

I'm pretty certain opcode 45 is mentioned.

There was also an error along the lines of 'BadAlloc' and 'insufficient resources'.

Apologies this is not more detailed.

Regards

Chris
