Actually, that's not the correct fix. I responded to this exact issue to Ralph Wiegand on October 5th (search the responses people! ;) )

It happens on SPARC too, just not as frequently.

In /opt/SUNWut/kiosk/bin/dtsession

replace:

exec /usr/dt/bin/dtsession

with:

exec /usr/dt/bin/ttsession -c /usr/dt/bin/dtsession

The work around is to place your rdesktop command in a script file. Add a "sleep 5" before the rdesktop command, and use the script as your CAM app.

Hello,

I have Sunray 3.1 on sparc with solaris 10.
All smarcard users are CAM users which start rdesktop sessions to a WTS server. Rdesktop is a critical applications so the session is restarted if the application exits.
All non-smartcard users use JDS.
If CAM starts the rdesktop session to the WTS server and you don't login the session gets restarted every 120 seconds due to the WTS logon timeout. After a number of restarts I get the same error message as mentioned in the release notes:

>From Sunray 3.1 release notes page 13:
Action Required Popup (6242736)

Some DTU's get stuck with the Action Required popup menu when CAM (kiosk) policy is enabled on SRSS 3.1 for Solaris x86. When this condition occurs, the user can simply click on th OK button to restart a CAM session.

Note - This bug occurs only on Solaris x86, only when SRSS is configured for Kiosk mode for non-card users.

Here is the full text of the Action Required popup:

Action Required

The DT messaging system could not be started
To correct the problem:
....
.,...
etc.

So, this release note is wrongly stating that this only occurs on x86 Solaris and that it only occurs with non-card users.
On sparc it only occurs with card-users.
Is there already a workaround known which prevents this error message?

Thanks,

Ivar
