My personal experience is memory is the bottleneck.  If it's a useful
benchmark, an old Ultra 10 with 128meg of memory is sufficient at my
house for 2 Rays and the console itself for homework use.  On the other
hand, it's painful when you get into streaming music videos, constant IM
use, and three teenage girls surfing through myspace.com and tuning
their pages.  It really depends on what you want your kids doing :-).
