Dear sunray users,

I have a SunFire 280R and some SunRay 170 clients connected via a
dedicated 1GB net.

Powering-on the 170 I instantly see the small status box appearing with
a 21 in the lower right corner. The manual tells me that "the Sun Ray is
booting up and is waiting on DHCP IP address and parameter assignment".
I see this message for exactly 60 seconds, then the 21 changes to 22D,
then 26D and finally the login screen is presented.
Sniffing the network traffic on the server I can see the first DHCP
request sent by the Ray 60 seconds after a power-on or a reset -- as
expected.

This is very odd. It sounds as though the Sun Ray is having
trouble establishing the link. Have you turned off "spanning
tree" protocol for the switch port attached to the Sun Ray?
Do you perhaps have a loop in your switching topology?
