Although I'd stick with the Rev.1 patch for now considering mr. Doolittles responses here :-)
I'm afraid I may have done more harm than good with my misinformed comment, for which I am very sorry. The fact is that Rev 02 is only an improvement over SRSS 3.1, and is required for using the Sun Ray Connector for Windows. There is still a problem in it, but that problem is present in SRSS 3.1 also [1]. Rev 03 will address this. It should be released in a week or two. We would have preferred to have both issues fixed before 02 went out, but 02 is still better than 01. [1] Under extremely heavy load there's a mutex deadlock condition in utauthd which can cause it to become blocked in the middle of spawning a child during session creation. When this happens you will see two instances of utauthd in the "ps" output. Unfortunately this condition causes SRSS to stop providing service and requires a (soft) utrestart. This condition is only seen under very heavy load (60+ users per server). There were two similar cases in SRSS 3.1. Rev 02 fixes one, and Rev 03 fixes the other. If you care to follow up via sunsolve, the relevant bugIDs are 6330608 (fixed in 02) and 6376242 (fixed in 03, not yet released). -Bob _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
