$PATH issue? Do a 'which utsettings' in both
cases. Do you have a $CLASSPATH set? $JAVA_HOME?
$JAVA_COMPILER?
Try clearing your environment and running it
(e.g. env - DISPLAY=$DISPLAY HOME=$HOME /opt/SUNWut/bin/utsettings)
