I'm working on a pilot rollout of SunRays. We have two datacenters, each one has four SunRay servers - two Solaris and two Linux (8 servers total). I plan to have a failover group defined between the two like servers at each datacenter, and regional hotdesking between the two datacenters. The datacenters are physically remote from where the SunRay devices are to be deployed and used, so I have DHCP helpers configured on the appropriate switches. The SunRay servers will be providing all DHCP info to the SunRays. The SunRays are sitting on a dedicated VLAN, but the servers are on a shared VLAN.
My question is this - has anyone done a deployment like this, and if so, how can I point the devices at a particular server? Hotdesk sessions can't move between Linux and Solaris (right?), which leads me to this issue.
