It makes no sense to me. And if this was a real requirement then it would make no sense to even offer the possibility of performing these operations from a secondary. I suspect a doc bug.
Thus it also makes sense that this option doesn't appear on a secondary server. This is trivial, but I am curious why it does show up as an option on two recent additional secondary servers that were installed. Otherwise, all 3 secondary servers seem to be running as they should.
What else is in the logfile ahead of the "Error opening status file" message? My best guess for why the GUI can't open the file is that the file does not exist because it was never created. My best guess for why it wouldn't be created is a permissions problem.
