That worked for me fine, check my update since steinbachs has the debian

One big question... Are you using the stock Draper gdm*.deb? I've gone
back and forth on wondering if I have to have the Sun hacked gdm.
Stock, the new GDM has the Sun patches incorporated (or so i think i've
read). Anyway stock works for me flawlessly.
BTW, We're going to try SRSS on ubuntu 7.04 (herd 4) shortly...hopefully
it works.
Great! I finally got things somewhat working now, I can login. I was
going to tell you that the debian patches 07-02-02 seem to work on
Edubuntu 6.10 fine, but the patch set that you created at the bottom of
the SunrayOnUbuntu page caused me problems... so you might check this.
How do you get audio working? Maybe this is a general question for the
whole list. First, I have downloaded the new sunray modules source and
compiled them - the ones for 2.6.17 or greater. I've read the
adminguide.pdf and done what it says there. $AUDIODEV is not set after
I login though. I also tried to redirect all audio by putting
STARTUP="/usr/bin/env LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libc_ut.so $STARTUP"
in file /etc/X11/Xsession.d/51SUNWut-preload but that didn't work. It
made Gnome repeatedly crash. Source:

Terminal's beep coming through the SunRay speaker-out. This must write
to /dev/audio because the Admin Guide says the srss reroutes /dev/audio
to the sunray.
For apps like playing an mp3 with Totem, I only get sound out of the
server. Also the sound mixer shows the sound card of the server
(notebook). "utsettings" shows that audio should work I think, I have
the SunRay volume turned up.
Please help... I'm taking VERY careful notes and putting it all in a
script that can play against a stock Edubuntu 6.10 install. I'm hoping
this can be a resource for K12/Edubuntu types that want to use Sunray
clients. (LTSP can't cope with all the weird client hardware I threw at
it... plus SunRay clients are sexier)
Thanks,
Scott
