I'm fairly new to SRSS and I've been tasked to install 25 through out
our campus as kiosk for announcement, forms and checking email. I've got
3.1 working fine but I need a little education on the CAM startup
process. I've setup a cam script to open firefox to our intranet but I
need to edit some files to reflect the clients home directory (ie
/var/opt/SUNWbb/root/home/utcu?). One file I need to edit is .sversionrc
so it wont ask the user to configure StarOffice everytime the browser is
closed (should I install Oo?) of the session restarts.
1. Is their a script that runs after the users home directory is built
from the prototype?
2. Is it acceptable or proper to just run another cam script to make
changes?
3. When does the utkioskstatup run?
4. When would I need to use a wrapper?
5. At what point does the utaction run?
Also, how are others running IE or Office apps on a sun ray without
RDP'ing to a windows box. Are they using something like win4lin or wine?
PS. I'm always looking for constructive criticism so if you have
suggestion please let me know.
