You would run into the same problems with ufsdump as you would with flar. Flar is just smart enough to tell you that it's a bad idea. I'm not sure exactly what the installer does differently with different sparc architectures and systems and but it's a safe bet it's quite a bit, a little more to it than which kernel to load. Probably why I don't think anyone even bothers. I would say it's fresh install time, and move the data over the 'fun' way. If you had a Solaris zone (container) you wanted to move to another sparc system, then it makes it pretty easy!

Unfortunately SRSS doesn't work in a zone. =(
