There is no official way. We've thought about it but since the ALP udp/7009 protocol is sent in clear (unless you use VPN) there's no easy way to make this secure. But there is a nasty trick to do it, known as "poisoning the ARP cache". Basically, you can run the 'arp' command to set a bogus MAC address for the Sun Ray's IP address (e.g. 010203040506). What this will do is to cause the SR Server to send heartbeats into the bit bucket instead of to the SR. After a minute or so, the SR will give up waiting for heartbeats and reboot. When it reboots, it broadcasts an "unsolicited ARP Response", which "heals" the cache with the correct IP/MAC mapping, and you're good to go. -Bob _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
