Ah, yes, you're right.  I was thinking that at least
Sunnyvale and SCA shared a FoG because of the
episode last spring where IT had cranked up the
mcast TTL and were discovering large numbers of
out-of-group servers in addition to the group
members they were really interested in.  I wonder
whether that was some sort of transitional measure
while they were in the process of relocating servers
piecemeal from NWK (and Sunnyvale?) to SCA
and MPK.  Anyway, as you say, that's not how the
campus server groups are configured today, they're
using the supported configuration of having all
members of the group on a common subnet.  So if
multicast stops working they can easily go to
broadcast as a workaround.
