It *appears* like that patch may have solved the main issue. Finally
had a chance to take the machine down for patching this weekend. Was
unable to duplicate any of the incorrect screen redraw issues involving
black boxes and black lines while I was there after applying the patch.
Customer reports no occurances yesterday either. Time will tell for
sure though...
Doesn't solve the awful flashing that StarOffice does when large blocks
of text are selected. That must be an internal SO problem. Looks like
it wants to keep rapidly redrawing the screen for no reason for up to 30
seconds after the selection is completed. Need to test more from the
console at some point (doesn't seem to do it when run through X over
SSH).
