What is the procedure for upgrading Sun Desktop Manager from 1.0
to 1.01 ?
Do I deinstall 1.0 and then install 1.01
or
Do I reinstall 1.01 on top of 1.0 ?
and
What happends to existing SDM configurations.
They are LDAP based BTW.
The setup script from the SDM 1.0.1 zip will offer you the option to
upgrade your existing installation, so either solution is available.
Note however, that the platform requirements are different between the
two versions, the SDM 1.0.1 requires a Solaris 10 update 3 (that's
Solaris 10 11/06 if I'm not mistaken), i.e the same version as the rest
of the SRS does. The profiles stored in the LDAP server will not be
affected by various uninstallations or reinstallations of the SDM, and
will be compatible with both versions, so this shouldn't be an issue.
