Hi Joerg,
thanks for your answer.
I carefully did an RTFM again, and finally understood that you need to
modify
gdm pam configuration to get kiosk mode, that was the piece that i was
missing. So i configured gdm pam as instructed in the pam_kiosk man page
and added the pam_kiosk entries and that worked.
Usually Sun Ray install (or rather the reboot after install) adds
pam_kiosk to the gdm pam configuration as appropriate for Sun Ray. If
you don't use utinstall, then you'll have to do that yourself.
Did you set KIOSK_DEBUG=1 in kioskrc or are you using a pre-final
version of SRSS 4.0?
This is srss4.0 final..
Unless you set KIOSK_DEBUG=1 yourself, it should not be as verbose in
syslog as your post showed it to be (even at *.debug level).
You are using the gdm version from the system? Probably the mechanism
to make gdm start a custom session has changed vs the gdm delivered
with SRSS. See setGDMSessionStarter in /opt/SUNWkio/lib/initsession.
So this is not an issue - the problem was the lack of pam_kiosk. I would
have been surprised to learn that this broke with newer gdm
I use uttsc to connect to a xen winxp hvm running on the same server.
There is one small problem when disconnecting from the rdesktop
connection with "Abmelden" or "Trennen", uttsc is not restarted and
stays there forever without trying to make a new connection.
First time I hear that.
