case 1)
I have a custom-jumpstart E420 running 10 6/06 (no srss).
All locales are installed (via "geo" jumpstart profile options).
"locale -a" shows the expected long list.
I use dtlogin to start gnome (jds) sessions exclusively.
The "Options/Language" menu item works as expected.
If I select some locale then, once I am in X, "iiim-properties"
lists many languages and "alt-ctrl-space" also works.
(If I don't, then it lists nothing and the hotkey does nothing.)
case 2)
I have a custom-jumpstart V240 running 10u4 + srss 4.0,
Configuration is basically the same as for case 1 above.
All locales are installed (via "geo" jumpstart profile options).
"locale -a" shows the expected long list.
I use dtlogin to start gnome (jds) sessions exclusively.
The "Options/Language" menu item does not ever list any languages.
Once I am in X, "iiim-properties" lists no languages and
"alt-ctrl-space" also does nothing.
question) How do I get localization working?
I was successfully running SRSS on the 6/06 with localization.
Presumably somewhere since 11/06, something has changed.
Unfortunately I didn't notice when it stopped working.
I see that there are a couple of new Dtlogin configuration options
in 8/07 but twiddling them doesn't seem to have any effect.
CDE is now under SMF but the only customization I have in my
jumpstart finish script is:
svccfg -s application/graphical-login/cde-login setprop dtlogin/args = '""'
to work around the "netservices limited" problem described in:
http://blogs.sun.com/ThinkThin/entry/sun_ray_on_opensolaris_work
In 10u4, messages from dtlogin appear in /var/dt/Xerrors (not in 6/06):
info (pid ###): Rebuilding default language list from /usr/lib/locale
Any suggestions?
