Hi Rik,

At work we've had two different touch screens working, both with the Trident driver for Solaris x86. Either using serial connector plus a Quatech serial-to-usb converter, or directly through USB. The driver consists of a part that uses a device node (in case of serial) or a FIFO (in case of USB). In the latter there is a second part using libusb, and also working with this FIFO.

The best thing to do is mail Trident and ask for a demo/trial. We had some problems at first due to the wrong driver being sent (a few times), so just stress out your OS, architecture, the use of USB, etc. to reduce the time it takes to obtain the right one :p Other than that they're usually fast on replying and very helpful. The driver itself is not free, but i don't think there is any other driver around that works.

Exactly which touch screens have you been using? Could you provide contact information (email address of a sales persons) for getting the driver?

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

  Andreas
